Pagatech's CEO, Tayo Oviosu, was on a panel discussing Mobile Money and impact to retail banking
The Lafferty Group is an organization dedicated to providing the highest standards of insight, objectivity and market intelligence to leaders in the worldwide retail banking, cards and personal financial services industry. The company holds conferences all over the world for retail bankers. This year the conference in Nigeria was held on May 4-5. The conference had a few sessions on mobile money and the opportunity for mobile money to change retail banking.
Pagatech's CEO, Tayo Oviosu, was invited to join a three person round table discussion. Along with him were Biodun Ogunlabi, Head MTN Mobile Money Nigeria, and Garry Marsh, Head of Retail Banking, Diamond Bank.
In attendance were retail bankers and members of IT departments at many of the major banks in Nigeria. The session turned out to be very interactive with a lot of questions coming from the audience. Many questions were focused on understanding how mobile money works, the differences in the approaches to mobile money (third party led, bank led, MNO led).
Given the levels of questions for Tayo and the conversations afterwards we think it was a great first public appearance for Pagatech.
